'Soundscapes of South Africa' is a narrated musical journey touching on South African life and culture, the end of Apartheid, Mandela’s Rainbow Nation, and hope for the future
It is night. You are alone under a dark African sky. The stars burn fiercely. In a nearby township, the chatter of crowds fades slowly. A baby cries as its mother sings a plaintive lullaby. In the distance, wildebeest flee across the veld. A lion roars. And then... silence.
Hear the evocative sounds of South Africa on flute, piano, voice and percussion. From folk songs and poetry readings to seldom-heard works by South African composers, this is a celebration of the diverse cultures of a harsh yet glorious region.
